Rules

Two rule sets, one standard: In-Game covers what happens on the ER:LC server. Server covers Discord and community conduct. Ignorance of either is not a defense in an appeal.

New Life Rule (NLR)

  • If your character dies or you're fully detained and processed, you forget the events leading to it.
  • You may not return to the same scene, target the same people, or seek revenge for that incident.
  • Respawning to immediately rejoin the same situation is a violation.

RDM & VDM

  • Random Deathmatch (killing without roleplay reason) and Vehicle Deathmatch (using a car as a weapon without cause) are both bannable.
  • You need an in-character reason before engaging — proximity alone is not one.

Combat logging

  • Leaving the game to avoid arrest, death, or an ongoing scene is not allowed.
  • Disconnects during an active pursuit or firefight are reviewed and may be treated as combat logging.

Priority & realistic driving

  • Yield to units running lights and sirens on priority calls.
  • No brake-checking, blocking, or ramming emergency vehicles outside of an active RP scenario.
  • Drive to the condition of the road — reckless driving without RP context is punishable.

Metagaming & powergaming

  • No using Discord, streams, or out-of-game info to gain an in-character advantage.
  • No forcing outcomes on other players without giving them a fair chance to roleplay their side (fail-RP).

Department conduct

  • On-duty PD/EMS/Fire must stay in character and follow their department's chain of command.
  • Abuse of department vehicles, equipment, or authority for non-RP purposes results in immediate removal from duty.

Respect & conduct

  • No hate speech, harassment, discrimination, or targeted insults — in Discord or in-game.
  • No NSFW content, gore, or content that wouldn't be allowed on Discord's own platform.

Impersonation & false reports

  • Do not impersonate staff, developers, or other members.
  • Filing knowingly false reports or fabricating evidence is a bannable offense on its own.

Tickets & support

  • Open one ticket per issue — duplicate tickets get closed.
  • Do not ping staff directly for support; use the ticket system so it's tracked.
  • Ticket abuse (spamming, trolling, mass-pinging) results in a Discord timeout or ban.

Advertising & leaks

  • No advertising other servers, communities, or Discord invites without staff approval.
  • Sharing internal staff channels, private logs, or leaked information is grounds for a permanent ban.

Staff decisions

  • Staff calls are final in the moment — argue in a ticket or appeal, not in public chat.
  • Harassing or DM-spamming staff over a decision escalates the punishment, it doesn't reverse it.
